A VINTAGE TREASURE

Last Sunday me and my husband went for a drive and as always found an adventure. I have admired this house for years. It sets some distance away from Lowes store. I have gazed at it many times while waiting for my husband to come out of the store and only could imagine what it must look like inside. I always felt like the big old house was calling my name. We happen to ketch the owner in one of the big barns on the property and asked for permission to go inside and permission was granted and the adventure began. I did not know that it is actually a historical home that was owned by a prominent man who they named a bridge after. I will be including several pictures I took while there. I hope all enjoy a little history treasure left here in Kentucky.

I did not walk around the whole place and take pictures of all sides but I think this demonstrates how big it is. The doors you see opened are the doors we went inside of. We stepped in and it was like stepping back in time with only my imagination of the wealthy family who lived there in the early 1800s. It was amazing!!!! This was the back of the house.

This is what you see when you enter the front door a grand staircase and a big open foyer.

You will notice there are fireplaces in almost every room complimentary of the 1800s I dig it!!!!!

As you can see the vines are growing inside this room. It was kool but also sad.

This was the servants’ back staircase and it actually led you in a circle to the grand front staircase.

It had a third staircase leading to the monstrous attic I did not get pics of all sides. The pictures do not capture the girth of it.

This was an amazing day and I hope to go back and get video. I thought I did and realized after we got home I did not hit record boohoo. It was empty and had been for many years but it had a lot of personality I truly felt connected. I hope everyone appreciates this century-old house as I did. I did not want to leave I told my husband just leave me here with the house and come back tomorrow lol I was actually serious no electric but I would have loved being there all night. during this pandemic, we have to make our fun safe and we accomplished that.
